Fascia Boards

The blogs are so far behind due to us trying to catch up with some of our jobs and trying to to get some design work for our customers.

Job 1

So the Fascia Board jobs, yes 2 fascia jobs in as many weeks. These 2 jobs in Dundee we got to use our new favourite product Tricoya which is an MDF type product but unlike normal MDF Tricoya is a super high performing material. Made by Medite for Accoya.

Due to both fascia job’s requiring wide boards, Tricoya was the best option due to its stability to the elements. Most marine plywoods or performance plywood at the moment are so bad I wouldn't trust them and I wouldn't want it to fall apart after a few months (which I have seen happen) needed some alterations as the angled fascia detail was trapping water and directing it into the building, so we made it look a more traditional detail.

Finished with Tikkurila paint systems.

We got in our roofer to replace the drips on the roof also

Job 2

This was similar but with no adjustments made to the fascia, we also replaced the front cladding as it had rot on the lower parts. We also used Tricoya on this job and sealed with Tikkurila primer ready to be finished on site by the painter. We also noticed some rot on the window glazing beads and the sash so we replace some of the sash and made new beads for the window while on site.

If there is anything we can do for you in the future don’t hesitate to contact us. We are a small joinery company based in Dundee City, Scotland

Blog #4

As I lay on the couch with my back recovering after it locked up on Friday morning, really slowing down progress on 2 of the jobs we have on at the moment. I thought I would get this blog wrote.

Kitchen Job

IMAGE.JPG

We have just completed a full kitchen renovation, it was quite a tricky one due to the constraints of the design, boiler and size of the room. But with the great team we have, we got it done. It consisted of a full rewire,  new plumbing and moving of the main shut off valve to the new sink unit. Once the guys got there work done we levelled the ceiling and put new plasterboard up giving it a beautifully flat ceiling. Then the Plasterer came in and plastered the whole room. We like to get the painter in to paint everything before fitting of the kitchen, it makes his life easier which gives us a better finish.

I am well chuffed on the outcome of the kitchen as it's a great transformation

Bathroom

On the same job, we are renovating the bathroom also and it's looking great we have the vanity unit worktop to fit and some siliconing to be done will post finished photos next blog.

En-suite

We are also working on an en-suite for a previous customer, this also is looking great. Photos of the finish to follow.

Tv unit

We also got the tv unit fitted this week. Glad to have this finished. We had some issues with the paint we used for the first time as a recommended product but we just had so many issues with it and caused serious delays.

We won't let anything below our high standards leave the Workshop, we finally got the finish we wanted and well pleased with the result and the customers were over the moon with the finished unit

Blog #3

Well well, it's been a busy few weeks at Rcc Joinery.

We have finish 2 jobs recently for Brodies Timber in Dunkeld and one for Dundee City Council.

Job one for Brodies Timber was a massive sectional floating ramp dock. the other job was on a previous job, the curved handrail that job had 2 more handrails to be fixed due to bad workmanship by the previous trades. We needed to dissembled the handrail and fix the newel posts correctly.

It was great to see the Curved handrail all stained and carpet fitted, photos to follow on that

The Dundee City Council project was to supply and fit Iroko timber to a bench on the Perth Road in Dundee. The bench actually spells out "Perth Road". Photos of the timber in Blog #2

What have we been up to Blog #2

Well, we are in the process of making this Tv unit for a customer in Dundee. We gave them a few ideas and together we came up with this design based on some styles they liked. It’s going to have oak doors with 2 different colours on the unit.

Our First Blog

Well here it is our first blog 🙈 wish me luck. With the launch of our website a few weeks back I thought I would give a blog a go to keep everyone updated with our projects. You also might have noticed we have had a bit of a rebrand.

The new logo

The new logo

 Why the rebrand?

Well back in 2014 when RCC Joinery was started we needed a logo for the van and business cards. After speaking with Dundee based website/logo designers they were well out of our reach especially after getting a van and essential tools to carry out customers jobs.

We decide to make our own on one of them design your own logo websites. They are pretty good but very basic as you have to pick certain templates then go from there. We picked the one we liked and went it.

Why the change?

I always felt it didn’t portray our work and it is a badly made logo as there are extra lines in the roof which looked very weird once blown up and put on the side of the van. I feel the new logo looks and portrays what we do better than a roof.

What we do.

Well we are a Bespoke Joinery company based in Dundee Scotland. We work on residential and commercial projects from design to production in our workshop. We also work closely with RDO Joinery in Blairgowrie and Brodies Timber Dunkeld.
